About Mitford Fontaine
I was born in Montgomery, Al and now live in downtown Kowaliga, Alabama. I started taking pictures as a child using my grandmother’s Kodak Brownie camera and later advanced to the Kodak Instamatic. From that I moved up to a manual 35mm Single Lens Reflex camera. My first assignment with that camera was to photograph the birth of our first child. Unfortunately, or maybe not, I forgot to put film in the camera. When the second child came along I did not make the same mistake. I did, however, forget to take the lens cap off.
I enjoy photographing birds, bugs, old barns, old buildings, old dogs, landscapes, sunrises and sunsets, and God’s great outdoors. I have enjoyed making digital composites for several years.
I've gotten a little better over the years and if I keep working at it maybe one day I’ll get the hang of these things called cameras.
